GM4RIV The Wigtownshire Amateur Radio Club

We have a purpose built shack within the Aird Unit premises, this was provided by the councils Adult Education Department.

The VHF/HF shack contains a Kenwood 570 running into a Delta loop aerial this is used mainly for digital communications such as PSK31 and RTTY. The other radio in this part of the shack is a Yaesu FT 736 2Mtr 70Cms and 6Mtrs running into a Triband antenna, this is used as a voice only station. This setup allows us to have two stations running side by side.

The radio in the HF shack is a Kenwood TS 2000 running into a trapped dipole at about forty feet, this is used for all HF work on SSB and CW.

Both shacks are usually operational most club nights
